Search Tools :
NOTE - Appraisal Record Search is available again - now hosted by Southwest Data Solutions. "Search Tips" are available on that web-page.
Using the Map Webpage

These instructions are provided for your convenience, to aid you in your use of this website. You may want to print this page and the More Instruction page to use as a reference while you surf the Midland Properties Map and/or the Midland Map.

1. There are several more layers than the ten that are available when the map initially comes up. These other layers become available at varrying scales as you zoom in on the map.

2. Of the "available" layers at any scale, some are visible - others are not. You can turn on or off the various layers by checking or unchecking - respectively, the boxes in the legend and then clicking on the "Refresh Map" button at the bottom of the legend.

3. Of all the layers on the map - only one can be the "active" layer. You can change the "active" layer by clicking the round bullet hole beside the layer that you want to be active (there is no need to click the "Refresh Map" button at the bottom of the legend.)

4. In order to do a search on property inside Midland County, you must have either City Parcels or County Parcels selected as the "active" layer. Both maps will initially have City Parcels selected as the active layer, when the map loads. If you are looking for a property outside the Midland city limits - you will need to select County Parcels for the "active" layer, by clicking inside the round "hole" beside County Parcels - in the Layers list on the right side of the screen.

5. With either City Parcels or County Parcels selected as the "active" layer, you can use one of the following three "tools" on the toolbar to search for information: a- The identify tool - , b- The Search tool - , or c- The Find tool - . All of the search fields for the above tools are case sensitive and all the information in our database is in upper-case, so type your inquiry using upper-case...for example - type "SMITH WALDO" not "Smith Waldo"or "3901 WALL" not "3901 Wall". For more in-depth instruction on the use of these and the other "tools" in the toolbar, check out the more instruction page.

Map Options: We now have two choices for your convenience, one simple map application (Midland Properties Map) and the other, a more advanced map application (Midland Map.)

NOTES:
1. Property values (market values, land values, and
improvement values) shown in the maps are current
values for the year 2006, taken from our working file.

2. The layers "Private Buildings" and "Public Buildings"
are being removed from the maps in compliance with
Texas Senate Bill 541.

The simple map application has only six layers to deal with and the number of "tools" has been reduced. This will, hopefully, provide an easier platform for some web users. Midland Properties Map

(See Note 2 - above.)
The advanced map application has nineteen layers for those who want to view information like: zoning, subdivisions, schools, parks, 100 yr flood plane, etc. Yes, you can still search city and county parcels, and now you do not have to "zoom in" for those layers to become visible. Midland Map
